LEPRA (swe) - Mortuus Morgana - CD
From the shadowed fringes of the Stockholm sound comes Mortuus Morgana, the haunting debut from LEPRA, practitioners of Cadaver Rock: a grim alloy of romantic blackened death metal, mournful doom, and decaying melody. Across four soul-scouring hymns, LEPRA doesn’t resurrect the past — they exhume it, disfigure it, and drag it into their own funeral vision.
Built on the diseased foundations of Black Wound, Atonement, and Mutation, the members of LEPRA channel death and despair through twisted, nerve-wracked melodies and ravenous blasting. Mid-tempo passages groan with tension and collapse into abyssal gloom, while brief glimpses of stripped-down beauty flicker like dying light in the crypt. This is Cadaver Rock! Death metal not just as sound, but as suffering, longing, and ritual.
For those drawn to the melodic anguish of Dismember, the forlorn spirals of Vanhelgd, the doomed haze of early Katatonia, and Tribulation (The Formulas of Death) — LEPRA is your next descent.
A cursed beginning. A future draped in dusk.
Enter Mortuus Morgana.
