DREAMING DEATH (au) - Sinister Minister - CD
From the festering darkness of Australia’s metal underground, DREAMING DEATH rises to unleash Sinister Minister, a five-track maelstrom of unrelenting, classic Death Metal. Forged in the viscous depths of ancient matter and baptized in the fumes of primeval possession, this debut EP is a grotesque homage to the unholy spirits of '80s and '90s Death Thrash. It is an offering to the eldritch gods of metal, delivered with reverence but unafraid to channel their essence and mutate its form and fury, creating a soundscape that is both haunted and utterly alive. This is Death Metal that claws at the edges of orthodoxy, dragging you into swirling bowels of morbid, thrash-fueled riffs, pounding drums, and haunting atmospheres.
Fans of the genre’s golden age will find much to love here, but so will those seeking something new—a record that stands out against the gray tide of repetition. DREAMING DEATH’s Sinister Minister is no mere throwback; it’s a resurrected beast with a hunger for fresh blood.
Dare you enter the crypt?
Born from the minds of Pahl Hodgson and Ross Duncan, known for their work in BEYOND MORTAL DREAMS and OATH OF DAMNATION, DREAMING DEATH is a band which rejects the polished confines of their main bands. Instead, they dive headlong into rawer, unrestrained ferocity. The name itself is borrowed from a BEYOND MORTAL DREAMS EP, cementing a connection to the morbid tradition of the past while carving out a distinctly brutal identity.
To bring their vision to life, the duo enlisted none other than Matt "Skitz" Sanders—an Aussie underground legend and the percussive force behind DIABOLIC RITES. Skitz's powerful drumming acts as the heartbeat of Sinister Minister, driving the EP with an urgency that threatens to crack the earth beneath your feet.
