Doom band Chlad from Czech Republic brought together three members of Virtual Void, band rooted in the second half 1990s.
The three musicians from Chlad decided to compose slow, brooding music and sing about sad things, which awakened them from the negative lethargy pointing to the hibernation of Virtual Void and re-started their creative activity. The style in which they create raw, dirty, and uncomplicated music with Czech lyrics is completely different from overproduced recordings with plastic “perfect” sound abounding everywhere.
On the other hand, bands playing music similar to Chlad are hard to find in the Czech Republic. If you enjoy listening to Reverend Bizarre, Monolord, or Pentagram, then you’ll be listening to the right band. It’s called Chlad.
