Originally released in 2016 by Raw Skull Recordz in a strictly limited edition of 300 copies, "Embracing The Cold..." unites two dedicated torchbearers of old-school Death Metal: Swedish legends WOMBBATH and Dutch Death Metal force DEPARTED SOULS. The split CD captures the uncompromising spirit of the underground, presenting exclusive material from both bands in a compact but powerful 20-minute assault.
WOMBBATH contribute two exclusive tracks that perfectly showcase their unmistakable blend of crushing Swedish Death Metal, combining buzzsaw guitar tones, infectious grooves and dark, melancholic atmospheres. DEPARTED SOULS answer with three tracks of their own, delivering a raw and heavy dose of old-school brutality inspired by the golden era of the genre. Together, both bands celebrate the timeless sound of early '90s Death Metal while adding their own distinct identity.
"Embracing The Cold..." is an essential release for fans of classic Scandinavian Death Metal and uncompromising underground extremity alike, a split that demonstrates how the old-school flame continues to burn with undiminished intensity.
