MORTUARY (mx) - Shine of the End - CD

In this death metal masterpiece from Mexico’s Mortuary, the emphasis on riff-centric composition sets it apart. Percussion takes a backseat, serving the dominant tremolo riffing and creating a steady-paced, fluid drive. The thrash influence is naturally expurgated, allowing for a dynamic register not commonly practiced. Transitions are seamless, and every cadence feels purposeful, contributing to a consistent mosaic of quasi-Swedish riff melding. Mortuary’s approach, reminiscent of At the Gates’ mastery, showcases a heavy sound with briefer phrases and subtle rhythmic permutations, creating a captivating and intense musical journey.
